History

Stage 2 runs the coast from Tarragona back to Barcelona, trading the opener's city circuit for a rolling, hilly run along the Mediterranean. The finish town is familiar from the day before, but the approach over a string of short coastal climbs sets up a very different race.

Tarragona's Roman past and Barcelona's punchy finishing roads bookend a day that suits the breakaway and the puncheur alike. Expect attacks on the final hills before a reduced group contests the line.
